Special Thanks to the Photographer Jim McLaughlin
Special Thanks to Photographer
Jim McLaughlin did an outstanding job with the difficult task of photographing the new sculpture pieces. The pieces are bursting with color, capturing light and spirit with polished Gemstones of Agate and Crystal, fastened in welded stainless steel.
The photographs had to represent the not so easy task of capturing the essence and dimension. I think Jim did a bang up job! “ BravO”- Jim!

Sculpture Forges New Relationships
We had a good visit with the family members of a man that inspired a piece of sculpture.
Before he inspired sculpture he was a friend- a real friend.
I had seen him in all states of mind and we even had a few good disagreements.
His family came for a visit and they, for the first time experienced the sculpture.
The small sculpture has extensively traveled and shown with outstanding, powerful, unusual, persuasive, response. The on looker’s verbal reactions about the sculpture are varied and detailed, more so than any sculpture that I have built.
Thanks Uncle Owen for being you, and sharing your life’s journey with us.

Answering the question of What I Do?
I encapsulate things of working history into new forms of emotion and story line, which changes with perception. I choose a story and/ dialog for the enrichment of social community using tactile objects. Rescuing these objects for the future in remembrance of objects made with pride and quality. Soon these items will not be remembered, as our country scraps the history for cash flow or mere existence. I tell the multidimensional, story with submissive multifaceted statements with the inclusions of time. Time ever changing but still the same, people forget history.
One story that is always a consistent thread in my work-
“The working man’s story” – “Blue collar” saved and re-thought, embodied, immortalized essence of parts and equipment, through re-birth equaling sculpture.

Flaming Airbrush on a Honda Gold Wing Trike
http://mvarametalandpaint.com/site/blog/
This job for me was wonderful and the clients were the best. We enjoyed good jokes and I got the opportunity to do my airbrush thing at a reasonable pace on the very beautiful orange base color. I am sad to report that the pictures do no justice as the 3rd dimension and the flip flop glitz is lost in them.
For an in person viewing the Trike will be showing with the Honda Owners Group at the Aviation Mall Glens Falls NY on May 2nd 10am to 2pm.

How to be a winner
History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encounter outstanding heart breaking obstacls before they triumphed.
They won because they refused to become disscouraged by their defeats.

Art Autism and children- troubled teens
Autistic Children and Troubled Teens
Now for something totally different I will be attending/ participating in a class lead by Jess Epstein at the Charleston School for troubled Children/Teens to express themselves through art. This series is meant to enhance my study in art expression, communication, and reaching out to autism. I in the fall will be teaching or being taught by a small group of children that think through what is coined Autism. I thank this small group of parents for the allowing of artful interaction with their children and their personal time. Thank you Jess for your class, help and input.
I look forward to this series bringing new visual stimulation and experimentation, for the future visual segments that I will build in relationships and sculpture.
When I look back at my sculpture- at some point it is all a personal relationship one sense or anouther.

Sharing in the dreams that rust can expose.
We enjoyed visiting with the artist and good in depth conversation.
If you ever get a chance it is worth the wonderful visual ride to
BIjan Mahmoodi's Circle Museum.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZM0jC3h3Pjs
The Circle Museum is a registered Columbia County Museum consisting of over 100 large-scale works of sculpture. In this location for 25 years, BIjan Mahmoodi is the owner of the museum and the artist. His art reflects his fascination with hard-to-find Industrial Era fabricated metals and bronze casting. Inside the artist's studio, also on the property, is a collection of Bijan's oil paintings that explore the circle motif you see in most of his sculptures.
Why is it called the Circle Museum? Bijan explains.... "Because our planet is based on the circle - the sun, the planets, the moon and life itself is cyclical. The circle is what inspires me."

About the Gardens at Hovey Pond:
Hovey Pond in the Town of Queensbury was the site of the Hovey Ice Company for many years and was also the site of a brick company, which extracted clay from the area around the current park. Hovey Pond Park opened in 1993 and the gardens were begun the same year. The gardens were the vision of Robert Eddy, chairman of the Queensbury beautification committee, who was inspired by the flower gardens at Wisley in Great Britain and realized the need for a public garden in the area. The gardens have grown slowly and evolved from a few flower beds to a group of diverse gardens encompassing approximately 1 & ½ acres. The gardens include a central mixed border, the blue garden, the white garden, the herb garden, a vegetable garden and a native plants garden. The garden is maintained exclusively by volunteers who work each Wednesday from April until October. The garden is funded by donations overseen by Friends of Hovey Pond, a not for profit established to ensure the garden’s continued existence. Infrastructure needs such as hardscaping are funded by the Town of Queensbury. Hovey Pond Park is on the most heavily utilized parks in the Town of Queensbury and each year thousands of people visit the park and gardens. Over the last few years the gardens have undergone extensive renovations to change traffic flows, add more plant diversity and create visual interest throughout the seasons.
