The cast iron posts are from a demo in Albany. It has been told to me they are from the 1800's.
They are now re-worked and erected as a pergola at a home over looking Lake George NY.
The wood slats for top will be installed in the spring.

Golden Retriever Wall Sculpture

Metal dog sculpture painted in copper fashion, with green translucent mountains in the background, was installed yesterday. Goldie the dog looks awesome in person and seems to lose a lot in the picture transition.

An Artist Thanksgiving creed-!

Im thankful for -

I am thankful that I am not one of the majority of people in this world that wakes up every morning, goes to a job they hate, just to come home and do it all over again.

I am thankful that I am my work, living all my passion and expression every day at my studio.

I am thankful that when I am away from my studio, my ideas come with me, they keep me company everywhere I go.

I am thankful for my life full of experiences.

I am thankful that I have a mind that cannot sleep, I have never been bored.

I am thankful that there is a part of my life that nobody can control, except me.

I am thankful that no one in the world can ever take this gift from me.

I am thankful that I am brave and strong, it takes courage to pursue my gift full time.

I am thankful that I am never satisfied; it forces me to move forward, change and grow.

I am thankful for my life mate, friends, family, collectors and peers.

I am thankful for you, the ones who help me reach and grow artistically offering me opportunities beyond words.

Thank You All and I wish you have a happy day with those who make you – you!
Peace!

911 metal sculpture in Saratoga NY

“As an artist it is invigorating to have been given such an eminent opportunity”…….

The sculpture piece I call “Respectful Remembrances” is meant to reflect the unity of Americans’ in all walks of life, offering an uplifting sense of healing and forward progression, on the home front horizon, without forgetting the past.

The remembrance of life lost, given and shared, the innocents of a nation changed and our troops on the front, even now, are also meant to be implied in the over all of this piece.

In overwhelming gratitude, to Rick Bailey for his trust.

News Artical for Sculpture called "the Guide"

Adirondack Museum acquires new artwork with an old flair

WILTON - Artist miChelle M. Vara used the Adirondack Museum’s logo as inspiration for “The Guide,” a one-of-a-kind sculpture designed and made specially for the museum in Blue Mountain Lake.
The sculpture is intended to capture Adirondack history and the relationship between the wilderness and a guide’s life.
It is 12 feet tall, 15 feet long and five feet wide. It is made with re-thought metal, colored in translucent paint and finished with clear.
Vara has done many historical pieces using recycled metals, funded through grants and the private sector. She chooses metal for its past history to tell a story by way of unconscious perception.
The sculpture was released to the museum July 30.
